Do you want to know?

Well we got our ultrasound today!!! We were so excited. We didn't care either way, we just wanted to know. Riley was guessing a girl and I never said once what I was thinking either way. We found out its a boy! (100% sure). It is all pretty exciting. I honestly think it is a little weird still that we are going to have a little guy around here in a couple of months, we are so used to girl. I guess I (and my mom!) get to go shopping.

Here are the pictures from the ultrasound. 2 profile shots, my favorite. One of his foot. One of his face. And I am sorry, there is one of his little legs... He is just over 14 oz now, and 21 weeks.

Just click on the picture for a bigger photo.

Enough for a pony tail?

Today we tried to put Rhylan's hair into a pony tail!! It involves 2 other rubber bands and several clips to make it work, but it looks cute. Too bad this will only last until nap time...if that long.

Color: Yellow
Song: Single Ladies-Beyonce
Food: Waffles

Shopping for Fun

These are pictures of Rhylan shopping in a Mini grocery store in the Memphis Children's Museum! There was a limit of three things per cart...but that is not the way I shop so Rhylan just couldn't do it. It was so cute she would walk down the isle, stop and pick something up and look at it for a while (you know price checking) and put it in her cart then stroll down the isle for something else she was interested in. (just like mommy). She made very wise choices, only the best produce and lots of laundry detergent! -

20 weeks! and Cold Beach

Okay finally! I am 20 weeks along HALF WAY!!!!! Wow it sure feels weird to be so far along but also it seems like I have been pregnant forever, know the feeling? Anyways we go in on Friday for the big ultrasound and hopefully find out the gender of our little kicker! We will keep you posted.

Back to Biloxi. ---Our first day we had to go check out the ocean/gulf. It was a pretty cool evening, we kept our jackets on. Rhylan didn't even want her little toes in the cold sand!

Rhylan puts on these glasses and says "coo" (cool) and of course, she is.

Here is what is left of a dock after Katrina! Actually they all looked like this, I guess these are not a high priority, they are still working on buildings and houses.

Oh and for all of you Mississippians...We are pretty sure this is the light house that is on our license plates. It was pretty small and kind of beat up.

Biloxi Vacation Part 1

Okay we had the best time on our vacation this last week! It was Riley's spring break and so we decided to head to the coast of Mississippi! We went to the town of Biloxi. We did a ton of fun things and took over 200 pictures so this could take a couple of days to get you all caught up. There will be a lot of pictures to come (I know several of you who would be disappointed otherwise--mom and Tiff) SO... get ready for your weeks tour of Biloxi Miss'ippi.

First off we had fun at our hotel. I booked it online and I was luckier than I have been in the past about picking a great cheap hotel. We stayed at the IP Resort Spa and Casino. If any of you are headed that way we recommend this hotel all the way! It was only $44 a night! And had a great atmosphere. Oh yeah and a great buffet.
Rhylan learned how to use elevator quickly!

Here is the lobby, but mainly I just wanted to show you Rhylan's hair. I don't know what happened?

We had this great big TV. If you look close it even is welcoming ME to the room!

Rhylan loved our big king size bed...okay she loved everything she could touch.

We also had a great view of bay from way up here on the 17th floor.

Finally!!!

Remember back in September when I started a quilt for Rhylan? Well not much has been done since November. Then I remembered that I had not finished the other quilt I started for Rhylan...over 2 years ago! Really I started this quilt in January of 2007 the day after I found out I was having a girl. I went and bought the material and got right to work. Here are a couple of things I learned while making this quilt:
1. Quilts are fun but difficult to design on your own
2. Hand stitching is way over rated and it takes forever (we are talking years)
3. Its okay to break out the sewing machine even if you are halfway done.
4. Use a ruler...oops
5. Finish while they are still a baby not a toddler, maybe she will use it for her baby dolls soon.
6. Finish it before you want to start another one or one for your next child.

Next week we are finding out if we are having a boy or girl and I would love to start a quilt for this next baby (since it takes me so long). I realized I should probably finish Rhylan's first!

HERE IT IS. I finished it today, and Rhylan seems to like it. I am trying to use a little Canadian and American theme to these quilts, since we are half and half over here!

I can read too.

Thursday was the warmest day we have had in a long time. I think it was over 70 degrees! Riley had the car that day, so Rhylan and I spent the day on our balcony enjoying the warmth. I grabbed a book (Nursing Mother's Companion) and sat down to read while Rhylan played. Soon she decide to go inside and get a book too (What to Expect When Expecting). I guess she is just as excited about her new baby brother or sister as I am!

Peabody Ducks

This was my favorite picture of the day.
(on the trolley)

Today we went to famous Peabody Hotel in down town Memphis to see the Peabody ducks. Now those of you who are from around here sorry, I have to explain this. Every day at 11:00 these 5 ducks come down from where they live on the roof somewhere. The duck master brings them down the elevator, they ride to the bottom floor, then they walk across the red carpet to the hotel fountain. Then at 5:00pm they walk the red carpet again to the elevator and go up to their home! I guess they are trained and are only on the job for 3 months before a new set of ducks takes their place.

They let the little kids sit right up next to the red carpet. Rhylan, as you could guess, loved watching the ducks walk right by her only inches from her fingers! Here are some pictures of the ducks and Rhylan checking them out!

Then we got on a trolley and rode around the downtown area and by the mighty Mississippi River. She loved that part too.
