When its cold outside...

We have to find fun things to do inside. So we played with a "water table" Rhylan had a great time playing. Gracin was not happy watching from the sidelines so he joined her. She is such a good sister. She always shares her toys with him and likes him to be near her. About half way through she started drinking the water. That was even more fun than playing. Hmm, I guess I know how to get her to drink water next time. She drank more that she does in several days put together!

The new face!

Gracin started making this face during Sacrament meeting last Sunday and I finally got it on camera! We think it is so funny. He kind of scrunches up his nose and sometimes shows his two little teeth. Over the break he learned how to roll over and can sit all by himself. He also started eating peas, green beans, and carrots. He even put on a few extra pounds.

Hunting

We have been gone for over 2 weeks visiting my family. Riley hadn't been there in 1 1/2 years and it had been since January for Rhylan and I. So we needed to make up for lost time. But we are home now and trying to get back into our groove! (There will many more post from our vacation in the next couple day/weeks)

While in Arizona we went hunting... for a Christmas tree. It was a first for Rhylan and my brother-in-law Mauricio. We found a perfect tree, in the dark, in the snow, in about 20 min. We didn't even get stuck in the snow (that usually happens!) Gracin didn't get to come. Here we are on our exciting excursion.

Grammy Sue, Rhylan and Papa

Rhylan thought it was really hard to walk in the snow!

So...she was carried most of the time.

Me, Tiffany, and Carly
The tree... and Tiff

My dad was happy to finally have help caring the tree. He now has 2 son-in-laws to help instead of 3 little girls! (oh Zak helped too:)

First Movie!!

Yesterday I took Rhylan to her first movie at the cinema!! It was a girls day out. My mom and my two sisters went with us to go see "The Princess and the Frog." Rhylan loved it and was really good the whole time. It wasn't until about half way through the movie that I noticed the popcorn still in her hands. She was so interested in the movie she forgot to eat her popcorn. She had two little fists full since the beginning of the movie.

Oh that's why...,

Gracin just got his first tooth yesterday!

For the past week or so he has changed his sleeping habits. He has been waking up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep when we try to just give him the binky and and leave the room (that usually works great.) But now I know why. And guess what, it broke through yesterday and last night he slept straight through the night just fine!!!

My little winter babies

Here is Rhylan in her Winter Wonderland dress! (aka Cinderella dress)
And here is Gracin in his matching winter outfit.
I never thought I would be able to match their clothes because they are boy and girl. But these two outfits just work!!!
We really think this little suit is so cute on him. What a little stud!

another one!

Okay so Rhylan and I were dancing. I spun around and she said "no spinning! Princess spin"
Me: "I am a princess."
Rhylan: "No, I princess, you oc-a-pus."

It kind of hurt my feelings a little bit to be demoted from a princess to an octopus. Good thing I love her. And good thing I laughed after I was sad for those 2 seconds.

Last week we made sugar cookies!! I had so much fun. It has been a really long time since I have made these, we are talking like 10+ years. My mom hates sugar cookies, there are much better treats we like for Christmas (peanut brittle, fudge, etc--sugar cookies just sound boring compared to these) But I have a little girl now and sugar cookies are the FUN thing to do. Here is our process:

She added all the ingredients and we stirred together. Here she is rolling with our very high tech rolling pin!--still need one of those i guess.

More rollingCookie cutting (good thing 1 of my 2 cookies cutters was Christmasy)
So carefully putting them on the pan.
