Funny little things

We were driving by some geese and I said "Rhylan look at those geese in the grass!" She said "Ooo! there is a small geek!"

We were watching 101 Dalmatians. She kept saying "look at all those dogs barfing!" "Mom that dog is barfing too!"---(she meant barking)

"Jesus wants me for a sun BEEP!"--- every time:)

Ages 3+

For Rhylan's birthday, we got her several board games. They are all ages 3+. She loves them! She likes to play with me, or by herself. She really likes games with spinners to decided home many places to move your piece. She doesn't obey all the rules of course and sometimes she just uses the the game pieces and makes up her own game. But, she is having a great time. I love her expressions in these pictures.

2 more awards

I won two more photo challenges last week! Well one was 4th place and one was 1st. I really am liking these online photo challenges. There are a ton. Go to my OTHER BLOG (HERE) and check out all the photo challenge buttons on the side and join in!

No makeup and glasses--Dr's orders!

On Tuesday morning I woke up with an itchy, sore eye. So I decided to not put in my contacts. As the day went on, my eye got more red and really sore. By bed time, the white of my eye was all pink and my eyelid was swollen. It looked like I had a lazy eye. I had a migraine and the light made my eye BURN!!!

When I woke up, I couldn't even open my eye. My eye wasn't crusted shut, it just HURT to open it, and would voluntarily shut. Having a future optometrist in the house, I asked his advice. He said it is probably allergies. (I had planted a flower garden the day before) So he looked up some good allergy eye drops for me to go get. Good thing Walgreens is only 1 mile from my house. It was a scary drive, I don't think it should be legal to drive when you can't keeps your eyes open. But I was hoping for some relief with the drops. I had to buy a pair of sunglasses just to make it back home. The drops did nothing. Riley had been calling me throught out the day and had talked to some of the Dr.s at the school. They suggested I come in to see what was wrong. Riley had to come all the way home and pick me up.

It turns out that there is several layers to the cornea, my outermost layer had some erosion that caused a hole in that layer. Not serious but really painful. Its like when you get scraped and the next layer of you skin is exposed, it's tender and sensitive. They gave me antibiotics to stop the infection, and pain medicine that dilated my eye but also helped numb my eye. I didn't feel relief until this morning, I am just as good as new. That layer of cornea can heal quickly about 24 hours.

So here are my ugly, no makeup swollen eye pics.

A new pet

Well I went outside the other night to get something from the backyard. I saw something that looked like a giant spider!! I went in to get a closer look and it turned out to be a little frog. I hurried and called to Riley to come catch it if he wanted a frog.--Riley loves frogs. He has wanted one for a pet for 1.5 years now. So now we have a pet tree frog. Rhylan loved setting up the aquarium with Daddy. (Since we have been married we have had several aquarium pets... pygmy chameleon, a few store bought lizards, one wild lizard that out lived any other pet--- so we had all the right stuff in our closet)

Then it was time to name him/her-- we don't know. Riley wanted to let Rhylan pic the name she suggested Talmer. I don't know where she came up with that name but luckily she already had a "pet" hamster with that name. I suggested Prince Naveen, Riley suggested Frogger. I guess he wants all our pets to have Nintendo names. But finally Rhylan agreed on Ribbit!

I need HELP!!

I have learned recently that Wal-mart won't print pictures that "appear to be taken by a professional, with or without a water mark." Now, I in no way, think my pictures are at professional level. I am just concerned that my friends and family who try and print the photos I give them after a photo shoot, may be confronted and asked to show a "release form." The ladies at Wal-mart said I needed to have my company name or letter head with the release.... COMPANY NAME????? Ummm... haven't thought that far ahead yet. I am still in practice mode for a while. So I would like you to help come up with a company name for me! This month I am doing 2 newborn sessions and a family photo shoot. I guess they might need this?!!

I think my name is pretty original and unique, it could be fun...

finders keepers

Here are his two front teeth!

You can see 5 of his 6 teeth here! This was a lucky shot:)

Just one tooth but a whole lot of cute!

Great view of the bottom three.

I have found several little teeth. Gracin has found his nose!!!

Gracin now officially has 6 teeth. Here is the weird part. They were coming in matched pairs... then they started coming when ever they wanted. He has 3 on bottom and 3 on top! He got his first two bottom teeth first. I think that is normal, then the top two, again normal.

Then the got the two teeth to the left of those top and bottom??? I don't know what to expect? Is he just never going to have a tooth on the bottom right? Here are some pics. I think his baby teeth are precious!

Too busy for lunch

Rhylan was too busy for lunch today (Friday). I kept calling her to come eat and she would reply "I'm play'n!" She had a rather large snack while I was on the phone with my mom, I guess she wasn't hungry. OR... She was having way to much fun playing with her princesses and doll house. Check out how she lined up all the princesses! I discovered later, that each little puppy had their own bed or basket. She is a pretty organized little girl. I really hate to interrupt solo play. It is so important for a young child to learn this skill. So, I let her play. Gracin and I joined her once we were through eating. Gracin of course, terrorized the toys, but Rhylan never complained, not even when he accidentally sat on her... that happens all the time. What a great sister she is. I tell Riley all the time that she is so nice to Gracin. We can play a board game, Gracin can come destroy it and she never ever yells at him or gets mad. She helps me set it back up and we are good to go.

First Swimmming Lesson

This summer a friend of mine offered to teach swimming lessons twice a week. Rhylan was so excited to go and get in the pool. She has yet to learn taking turns, all she kept saying was "Me first!" or "I can do it by myself." I asked her what her favorite part of swimming lesson was she said "kicking." I think this is going to be a great part of our summer:)

Backyard Bubbles

I think there is something magical about bubbles. It doesn't matter your age, everyone loves them. But when you are 3, you really are intrigued by them. To Rhylan, this is the best kind of magic. And it is something she can do herself! No wonder we sent 2 hours playing with these mystical little balls of popping color! While our family was here to visit we all enjoyed some time in the backyard making the kids faces fill with wonder. Everyone got in on the action. It was a little over cast outside, making it cool enough to play and great light for so many many fun pictures. These are just a few of the fun moments we shared that magical evening!!

Big smiles for Gammy C!!
All three of them are blowing bubbles at the same time!

Mid- action! I love this shot.

See even the adults were having fun making bubbles!!! We all laughed at this picture over and over again!

Papa held Roscoe still so Gracin could pet him. This kid loves animals. He is not afraid of cats or dogs at all.
Pure joy!!--Don't you think?

There was also a little chalk art happening too.

Both kids got a little messy from the chalk.

Auntie Markee sure loves to hang out with her niece and nephew!
