Baby Logan Photo Shoot

Well this was my second newborn photo shoot. This little baby was happy to sleep during the shoot! This made my job easy. He was just so peaceful. I just kept snapping and snapping! It was so hard to narrow it down. That is why it has taken me forever to edit them. They were all really good because he never even moved. This experience helped me learn a ton about newborn photography!! I can't wait to learn more!!! Here are a few of my favorites. What do you think? Oh and there is a pic of big brother. I snapped this while Logan was eating.

5th of july!!

Our day started like this: I see our mouse trap upside down and wiggling in the kitchen. We had figured he had moved out, it had been over a week since we put the glue trap down. I DON'T go check it out, I just tell Riley the good news and leave it to him. He goes to dispose of the creature and says "um... this is not a mouse!" ....................?

What on earth could it be? I couldn't think of one other thing that was small and gray and lived in our house!!!!! Can you?

He said "its a mole!"--- What! Yeah we had a mole in our house, weird huh?

We moved on and didn't let us spoil our fun.

Riley had and extra day off for the 4th of July weekend. So he planned a fun day for us Monday. He had everyone in mind when picking the activities. Thanks hun for a fun day:)

First we headed to Shelby Farms in TN. Rhylan went for a pony ride. She absolutely loved it!! The ride was pretty long too. They went three times around this long track. After wards, we went and met the horses. Gracin is so brave, he touched the horse right away.

Then we headed to little place part of Shelby Farms:

Rhylan loved helping me pick some fresh fruits for us! We got peaches, nectarines, plums, and a big tomato!

Then after that we headed to the mall. We stopped and had lunch, poor Gracin was so exhausted he was missing his second nap! But he was still in a great mood. We stopped by the Disney store, they were having wonderful sales!! We spent $40 and got Rhylan sunglasses, flip-flops, a summer dress, and a gold princess tea set. We got Gracin sunglasses, a Buzzlightyear swim shirt, 3 pull and go cars from Cars, and a little soccer ball.

Then we just browsed, my birthday is coming up and Riley wanted me to show him some things I wanted. If you are from here and go to the Wolfchase Galleria ever, my new favorite store is Charming Charlie go check it out sometime!!! Its like Claire's for adults. I loved everything in there!
Before we headed home we all got some tasty treats from Dairy Queen. Rhylan was happy to share her's with Gracin. She continues to surprise me with how nice she is to her brother. Just today in the car, she said she wanted to marry Gracin. I said no, you can't marry your brother. She said "I have to marry him, or I will never see him!!!!" --How sweet is that:)

SOOC

I won't say this is my favorite pic from the weekend... I love pics of my kids. But this is my favorite picture I took without my family in it!! SOOC-means "straight out of the camera." This is one of my goals. Take pictures and love them without editing!

Got POOP!!!!

Today since 1:00 (that is 3 hrs ago) I have done a lot of poop detail!!

Surfaces I have cleaned free of poop: Hallway carpet, Gracin's bum, bathroom floor, Rhylan's legs, Rhylan's bedroom carpet, Gracin's feet, bathtub, living room carpet, Rhylan's bum, toilet seat, and my shirt. Yes I did say 3 hrs.

Tools I have used to clean these: Water, Oxyclean, Cleaning spray, a washing machine, toilet paper, paper towels, wipies, 2 rags, 2 paper plates (great scoops), Wal-mart bags, and a cardboard box!!

The culprits:
1. Gracin: pooped in the hallway, stepped in it, and trailed it through the living room. In the process of cleaning him up he got poop all over the bathtub.

2. Zelda: pooped in Rhylan's room!!! She has never done this before. That was really gross.

3. Gracin: had a poopy diaper. I carried him to the change table and in the process got poop on my shirt!

4. Rhylan wanted some privacy to go to the bathroom. When I went to check on her she had a "dirty" tissue and was cleaning poop off the floor. When I asked her how it got there she said " I just don't know, get out of here okay!" I offered to help, then I found poop on the toilet seat and all over her legs!

Please let tomorrow be a poop free day!!!!

a cute little story

About 10 min ago Gracin pooped on the carpet, not 2 inches from linoleum. Seriously, the pee landed on linoleum and the poop landed on the carpet...(Trying to air dry because of bad diaper rash.)

So, I cleaned him up and put him in his crib while I cleaned up the mess. I asked Rhylan to go climb in there with him so we wouldn't be sad. When I come back from cleaning, and a trip to the outside garbage can, all I hear is giggling. Rhylan is now in silly, small pj's they reached through the bars from a box of old clothes. Rhylan has also taught him to jump and bounce on your bum for some more fun. When I went in there to get him out, he wanted to stay and play. They are still in there laughing and bouncing...I think:)

We decided to spend 4th of July weekend at the Lake. Sardis Lake is becoming a hot spot around here. This was our first time and definitely not our last! We had so much fun. Rhylan and Gracin enjoyed it all. From swimming in the water to playing in the sand they were happy either way. Rhylan would never hold still... so I have way more pics of Gracin.

His favorite spot to be was in his little hot tub on the beach. Riley and Rhylan dug a deep hole and filled it with water for him to sit, splash, and dig. He was so filthy...he has a bad diaper rash to prove it!! He had sand all over his face most of the time. He never even fussed until he was starving! I had so many pic of him playing in the sand I had to make a collage!

Rhylan loved going into the water! Since swim lessons, she is loving water a lot more, especially "all by myself!!!" She went for rides on daddy's back and in her floaty. She hauled water in buckets for the sand castle and made a sand city with Gracin, Daddy, and Mary. Mary and Rhylan also had fun chasing a huge yellow butterfly around the beach.

The whole gang after our picnic lunch!

The Friend

Rhylan has started a new habbit! While I fix lunch, she "reads" The Friend. It is amazing. It even works again at dinner time if needed. We just started ordering the Friend a few months ago. She really likes to look at the pictures. We even learned the "You don't have to push a handcart" Pioneer song!

On the move!--walking at 11 months

Don't you just love these chubby legs? I think they are perfectly precious.

Well Gracin is a walker now. He rarely crawls. He can actually get going really fast when you say "I'm gonna get you!" Or when I leave the kitchen gate down. He makes quick bolt for the cat food bowl. These are a few pictures I took of him the other night outside. He just walked around the entire backyard. We had to keep a close eye on him so he would destroy my gardens or eat dirt.

First Fruits!!

Our first mature squash of the summer!!

So, we planted a garden this summer. Things are a lot better now that we have a backyard to actually plant in:) Last summer I did a garden in pots. Then that stinking tornado weather blew everything over and some over our 2 story balcony. Still, I don't think I have a green thumb for vegetables.

This Squash is our 5th or 6th one to grow. All the others started getting moldy when they were about 2 inches long!!??? Rhylan actually helped plant all the seeds and was really excited to see this squash. She actually ate it at dinner. She never eats squash, no matter how many times I offer it.

Take a look at this plant. He was looking a little sad so I brought him in for some extra loving care for a few days. Once he was doing well and looking all green again. I let him have an afternoon outside to get some sun. I went back outside about 4 hours later and this is what I saw!!! Seriously it was green in the morning. In the afternoon it looked brown. I even touched the soil... still damp!!!???? Just in case you were wondering about the weather here, HOT...DEATHLY HOT... apparently! It fried Rhylan's flower:)

Just so you know some of my plants are doing well. Here is my blooming flower garden.

Caleb 1 year photos

So a friend asked me to take pictures for her. I of course said yes I would love to, thanks for the practice:) This is Gracin's little buddy. He just turned 1 year this month. He was such a trooper. The weather was still above 90* and oh so humid at 6:30 pm. But we survived and I got a bunch of cute shots. These are a couple of my favorites. I am sure his mom will also have her favorites posted as well so didn't want to steal all the good shots. It was fun and great practice. Thanks Lambert family!
