So I wanted to join facebook to see what all the fuss was about!! Really, does it tell everyone I know, every thing I post, write, or share? It seems a bit ridiculous. Why would I want my RS pres reading my comment to my sister? Or my acquaintance from High school reading comments I leave for my best friend? And do I have to invite everyone? What if I don't want to accept someone, is that really rude?
Tell me why do you like facebook and how do you use it?
(It's obvious I like blogging!! Why: I only see comments meant for me. I get to share a bunch of pictures with my family far away, and I print it up in a book after each year, so I never have to print pictures for a photo album. And it is like our journal/photo album all in one!)

ya i don't really like facebook all that much. Lots of people will post all their pictures and stuff to facebook - but i perfer to post mine on my blog. I have posted a few once in awhile but thats about it. If i'm on facebook I just read people's status's (what they are doing) which is usually a waste of time anyway. pretty much i have an account to have a way to contact some people if i felt like it.
there are a bunch of privacy buttons you can set to where only so and so can read this or that and stuff...but i haven't really messed with it that much since i don't share much information on there other than what kind of ice cream I am craving lol!
So just a little about who can see what you are writing to who. Your RS pres will only see comments that you write to people who are your MUTUAL friends. So it's kinda fun because let's say you wrote to Carly and said "Do you have any cute pictures of Rhylan on her first Christmas" and I could see it and say "Hey I do" I know that is a totally random example but it is fun. So basically friends that you have in common will be able to see what you write to other friends. Brie Kimberly Morgan and I have really enjoyed this. It is a great way to keep in touch and we have long silly comment conversations! I also like that ONLY the people you invite can see it, like a private blog. And no it's not rude to not add people. If you don't want to add them don't do it! Half of them are people you will probably never see in real life again anyways! I really like that status updates because you know what is going on in your friends lives without having to be super involved all the time. I always know when Carly is feeling blue because she will post something sad or forlorn. Then I can call her and try to cheer her up! It is also fun to know what is going on with the extended family. Anyways that is why I like it! Sorry this is long I just think you should give it a good try. I didn't like it at first, but now I love it. Just don't play any stupid games!!
Yeah, I have similar feelings. I really like blogging too. NOt that I am very good at it. But it is great for family far away and I would much rather read your blog than see your facebook page. Funny story. The Dentist I work for decided that there was too much facebooking going on at work so he set up a seperate computer. He told us it was for us to do our "my face" stuff. Ha ha...we had to explain that my space and facebook were different things and he was confusing them.
