Just practicing

I just learned how to put videos on my blog yesterday and I wanted to try it out. This is a video from Riley's white coat ceremony, if you watch the big screen in the background you can see him shake the school pres hand! So far I only know how to put videos from my camera on here and there isn't any sound on my camera videos? Oh well I'll keep trying.

Round

I love how round she looks in this picture. Her eyes, her lips, her cheeks, and her face are just round

Picnic and a nap

Today we went to a picnic with a lot of SCO students. We had a great time, we were there for about two hours. All of Rhylan's friends were there. She just ran around and got completely worn out.

Photo Shoot, Rhylan's way

So I tried to do a cute photo shoot of Rhylan and these are the best pictures I was able to get... all she wanted to do was rip out her hair clip and draw in that little book.

Mothers Group Activity

In our new ward, some girls have started a mothers group. I love it! We go to the park once a week and then there is usually 1-2 more activities the rest of the week. It has been nice to get to know the other girls in our ward as well as the other SCO student wives. Today we made hair bows. We all brought ribbon and swapped. I loved it. Here are the ones I made. Rhylan is showing you how they look on her...she thinks she looks great (she is looking in the mirror)!

Still Swimming

Yesterday was so hot here that we decided to go swimming. We got suited up and walked over to the pool, in this humidity you are already sweaty by the time you walk there. So when we get there our friends had showed up too. But we found out that the pool was closed. We were so sad, Rhylan just kept pointing to the pool and crying for it. Luckily Heather and Lucy's pool was still open so we spent the afternoon over there. They have a great big kid pool that they girls just loved!! But Rhylan was so preoccupied that I couldn't even get her to look at the camera!

Christmas Quilt

Well I have decided to make a quilt for Rhylans bed. It will hopefully be done for Christmas. A friend and I have taken this large task together and we hope it all works out okay. We designed the quilts ourselves so we are even more excited to see the finished product. Here are my material chioces. You will probable see my efforts come to life during the next couple of weeks, I will keep you posted...get it? j/k

Cute church book

My mom made this cute book for Rhylan and I had to show it off. She got pictures of all Rhylan's family. There are pictures from both sides with grandparents and great-grandparents. There are silly pictures of her aunts and uncles as well as her favorite page, of Zoe her favorite puppy.

White Coat Ceremony!!!

Today was Riley's convocation for opening ceremonies for optometry school and his white coat ceremony. Doesn't' he look like a doctor? He gets to wear this coat to school now. I took some pictures of him with some of his classmates. The ceremony was neat but really long... Rhylan and I (along with half the mothers I know) had to sit in the hallway for more than half the program.

After the ceremony was homecoming, we had a great time there visiting with friends. Riley has so much stuff and tools for school. I can't believe what he has to carry around with him. So I asked him to bring it home to show you. As you can see he enjoys optometry school so far!

I have a monkey for a baby

How to drive your mom CRAZY!!!

Step 1: Find a large object to climb on. Make sure your mom thinks it is impossible and dangerous.

Step 2: Use a laundry basket if you have to but start climbing up!

Step 3: Use your incredible arm strength to put the rest of your body over ledges.

Step 4: Never give up, keep your goal in sight. Even if it gets scary.

Step 5: Smile because you know your mom wants to get it on camera to prove to everybody that in fact, RHYLAN DID THIS ALL BY HER SELF, what am I going to do, nothing is safe anymore.

Another new trick

Today Rhylan was having so much fun with a water bottle. She is starting to figure out how to drink from one. As you can tell, most of the water ended up down her shirt but she didn't mind. After each drink she would set the bottle down and put on the lid...kind of. Anyways I was trying to take some cool pictures of her. I particularly like the one from below. If you look close you can see the water on the sides of her mouth overflowing and heading down her shirt. I also like the last one where she is begging for more water.

Thanks

Thank you everyone for replying so fast, it only too me 2 days to get the e-mails i didn't have!!! I hope this makes me feel safer on the internet.

Here is a fun update. Rhylan helped me make breakfast this morning. We made pancakes. Rhylan dumped all the ingredients into the bowl and helped me stir. We each had our own whisk, she like doing what mamma was doing. I think she also liked eating something she helped make. I got this idea from my buddy Rachel, she made brownies from scratch with her 1 year old, good idea Rach.

chicken little

I was planning on making Rhylan a puppy costume for Halloween and I was excited to maybe make it with a friend. BUT... I found this cute costume today and couldn't resist, you'll see what I mean. She wasn't so excited, good thing we have more than a month to get used to it.

So "Sweet"

Today we went to an orchard to pick apples with a bunch of girls in our ward. However when we got there, the apples weren't quite ripe but the peaches were. Rhylan had the most fun with the baskets, I wasn't even allowed to carry the basket. When I would find a good peach she would take it and put it in the basket herself. She was such a big helper.
