Halloween Party

Our mothers group had a fun Halloween party on Friday. I decided to change Gracin's costume. He dressed as an optometrist...just like daddy! He looked so cute, of course:)

We had a great time. Rhylan and one of her best friends were both dressed as bees. They were so sweet to each other the whole time. Rhylan spent most of the time at the "Cake Walk" getting a ton of suckers. There was a fun craft but Rhylan didn't want to leave the cake walk, even to do art!!!

Here are the kids on our way to the party.

Pumpkin carving

Rhylan again did not want to touch the pumpkin guts. She said it was gross! Gracin didn't mind it, but he also didn't have much interest. He would rather run around the kitchen.

This was as close as Rhylan got to the inside of the pumpkin.
"You want us to touch that?!!!"
Rhylan choose to make a pumpkin with "scary eyes, triangle nose and a spooky smile." Then she decided he needed eyebrows. She loved cutting out the face, I just kept her on track.
The boy's pumpkin was tribute to Riley's favorite hockey team, Calgary Flames!

Trunk or treat

We had a fun trunk or treat at our church Wednesday night. We came home with a ton of candy!! Rhylan knew exactly what to do, she went from car to car collecting candy using her charm and cuteness. Gracin was a little confused by it all. First he wanted to run around, then he would put candy in his bucket when someone would give him a piece. Then he sat with Riley handing out candy, Gracin threw candy at passing children. Rhylan was one of 6 or 7 bee's there that night! Gracin was a Jr. Ranger, I think he looked more like Crocodile Hunter:) Riley was a Royal Canadian Mounted Police and I was Bat Girl. I love dressing up for Halloween.

It was pretty dark outside and I had a hard time chasing, and photographing my kids. So, I quickly took a few pics and then put the camera away and just enjoyed the evening.

Some Halloween fun--Preschool catch up

Ever since Gracin was in the hospital about 1 month ago, we have slacked on preschool. Everyone had multiple Dr appointments, ear tubes, etc etc etc. So I have been doing preschool only a few times a week and not really documenting it. We did a lady bug week, with fun math activity and made a pretty ladybug necklace. Last week we did "Dinosaur Train". We made a volcano, started a "collection" like Don, and hatched sponge dino eggs.

She is so good with fine motor skills.
Roll the dice, count that many spots, glue them on the lady bug. Do it again for all three bugs. Then draw cute faces on them.

Today we did a couple things for Halloween. We did a "creepy" sensory activity. I had toy bugs and frogs mixed with pinto beans. Gracin had so much fun with this activity. Beans were all over, I tried to teach him to not throw them but... yeah you get the picture. We played with the bean for almost 1 hr. And Gracin had to be put in his crib so I could clean up the mess, he would undo every thing I put away.

We also made this fun foam paint shaving cream and glue. Mixed it together and finger painted a ghost. Gracin thought it was food of course, so I gave him mini marshmallows instead:) Rhylan loved the sticky texture and even helped me clean up the big mess.Everybody stir!!

MUD

After rain storms, our back yard can get a little muddy. Gracin accidentally stepped into the garden and found himself knee deep in mud. At first he was frightened. But as soon as we started laughing at him, he started to play. Rhylan also thought it would be a good idea. Riley found a toad jumping around in the mud with them. He showed Gracin, and Gracin caught it. I love this picture of Gracin holding the toad and staring him down:) Yes, he did catch him all by himself... a few times!!!

Another little bee

Ella is going to be a bee for Halloween too! Her mom had me take some pics in her Halloween costume. Besides us all getting bit by ants, it went really well. She is so photogenic, and easy to make happy. Rhylan was actually a big help. She is the one who got Ella to smile for the camera! I posted the rest on my photography blog.

I know you have all been anxiously waiting for these pics:) Well at least I know you were waiting Tiff! I have no idea which one to pick. I was also able to get a bunch of Rhylan, she was so willing to pose by herself, it was trickier when I put Gracin into the mix. I only got a few of Gracin alone, all he wanted to do was climb up those steps, dive into the water, dig in the dirt, etc, etc, etc!!! But after 150 pictures, I found these that I love!!! I can't wait to hang them on my wall. I love pics of my kids. They are so precious to Riley and I. I thank Heavenly Father every day for trusting me with these sweet children.
