Still using the water table-take 4

Rainbow noodles! Gracin particularly enjoyed this activity. I died some pasta with alcohol and food coloring. Then I put the dried noodles in the sensory table with little bowls and scoops. Gracin got to play by himself for a while before Rhylan joined him. He liked scooping them, filling the bowls, and putting noodles in the funnels. He even picked up noodles he dropped by accident and put them back into the table.

The cutting table. I filled the table with string, straws, copy paper, contrition paper, tissue paper, cardboard. This gave her a chance to try cutting different types of material and practice with scissors.

My goal this week

I have a busy week planned, but I also wanted to make sure I fit in some Valentines crafts with Rhylan and possibly Gracin. So I took the time now to go find the ones I want to do and saved all the links here so it would be easy for me to find them again!! Also, I thought it would be fun to share if you are short on time and wanted to do a fun Valentines craft with your kids, here are some fun ideas that we are going to do.

Collint

Riley was asked this question by a classmate:

"Hey my neighbor is giving away a Golden Crested Gecko
with its habitat for free, do you want it?"

I'll give you one guess what he said:) He did call me first to see if I would mind. They don't really bother me, I don't have to feed it, or clean it or take care of it. Riley takes care of all that. So that same night we drove to Germantown to go get her. Rhylan is convinced it is a girl, but really we don't know.

Rhylan's favorite name right now is one she made up: Collint. So that is her name. Rhylan wouldn't go for Pascal -the name of the lizard on Tangled, her favorite movie. Collint likes to jump and climb. When we hold her she leaps for higher ground...like Rhylan's face. Or, runs to sit on top of our shoulder. She is really light and kind of velvety soft. I even have held her a few times...after several days of per pressure!!


Collint had just jumped from Riley's hand to Rhylan. Rhylan loved it!

Oh and Riley said Crested Geckos don't have eye lids so they have to lick their eyes!--hmm weird

Laundry

I made this fun toy for Rhylan last week. Its a top load washer and a front load dryer stuck together. I used 2 diaper boxes, packing tape, paint, water bottle tops, and some tools! It turned out so fun and cute. Rhylan washes her doll clothes her own dirty cloths and pretty much any laundry within reach. I also gave her this little basket and some hangers to finish it off. I love toys that help her role play/dramatic play. I have a bunch more stored up to make on another cold day.

The only way Gracin will let us brush his teeth is if he gets to watch Rhylan do it at the same time. He really likes to do it by himself, I think he feels like a big kid when he gets to do the same things as Rhylan.

Zelda

This is our kitty Zelda. She has turned out to be such a good kitty (most of the time.) She is usually napping in the living room or in the window. Sometimes she hides from the kids but usually they leave her alone. She likes to give them kisses (smelling them) and play with toys under the door with them. But I am her favorite person ever. Anytime I sit still she wants to sit on top of me. I am not a big animal person and this kind of drives me crazy!!! But at least she is loving not violent.
