Labor Day camping.
Every year since I was little my family has gone camping on Labor Day. Most of the time it was a family reunion and
sometimes it was just us. We always
looked forward to it. It has been years,
4 or more, since I have lived close enough to go. I was so happy I finally lived close this
year so we could go. It was the first
time camping with the kids! My sister
Tiffany and her family were able to come down from Provo too!!
It was so nice to escape the record breaking heat we had
been having (112*) and relax in 60-70*.
It even rained a time or two and cooled everything down.
Rhylan and Gracin really got dirty. They pretty much played in the dirt all day. Rhylan made gardens, horse stables, fairy
houses, and dirt castles. Gracin tasted
it, fell in it, threw it in Rhylan’s hair, and plowed it with trucks. They were also happy to play with their
cousin Jude, and of course endless attention from mom, dad, grandmas and grandpas,
aunts and uncles. They observed wildlife
like cows and squirrels and caught a frog!
I asked Rhylan what her favorite part was, she said sleeping
in her sleeping bag! Her least favorite
part was being stung by a bee!! After
the first day we started noticing an increase in bees around our camp. We are pretty sure we were camping near a beehive. I think only 2 or 3 people left without a
sting. Yes those stings hurt but on the
bright side, we didn’t see one mosquito, bear, or wolf!
Gracin is trying to examine Jude's eyes.
These pics are just of the kids, I have more from the rest
of the group coming later… they are taking FOREVER to download.
