Last of Biloxi

Our last day we spent at the beach. Rhylan really liked digging in the sand, flying her Elmo kite, getting her feet wet, and holding still while Riley used her as a hurtle!! She had a great time, so did we. We practically had the beach to ourselves and the weather was warm enough for fun, just not swimming!!

Spring is HERE!!!!

These are not the best pictures, I took them with my phone with a very unwilling toddler. I just had to show you the pretty colors blooming in the Memphis Botanic Garden!!!
They had so many different colors of Tulips. I wanted my future house to look just like it, 100's of Tulips to brighten my day in March.

And of course we had to check out the water features!! This was a close one actually, her leg is about to swing up over the edge.

Early Birthday Present

Rhylan will be turning 2 May 30 and we had planned on getting her a doll house for her present. She has seen a couple at friends houses and really enjoys playing with them. But when you see this for $8.99 (Goodwill) you have to go ahead and get it early!!! She was with us so we decided to let her go ahead and have it now. It didn't come with much inside besides a bed and a cabinet thing. So for her birthday I think we will go ahead and get her stuff to put inside. Until then, she is satisfied with 3 "Little People", a tiny baby doll, and wash rags for blankets.

The ALLIGATOR!!!

So our favorite thing we did on our Biloxi vacation was to go on a marsh/swamp tour on the Pascagoula River! Our guide told us it is the largest un-dammed river in the USA!!

We were the only ones on the tour that day so we had the best seats on the boat, our own personal tour guide, and tons of fun.

Rhylan absolutely HATED wearing this live vest. In fact, she cried for the first 10-15 min of our ride until we finally just took it off.
There were areas of the river called marsh--see below. Just a lot of tall sharp grass.
And areas called Swamp!! You can tell the difference because in a swamp there are trees and more types of plants and animal life.

We were riding for about 2 hours. We saw a ton of different animals. We saw raccoon, king fisher, osprey, turkey vulture, black vulture, red ear slider turtles, yellow ear slider turtle, and a red belly turtle, but of course we were really anxious to see an ALLIGATOR. Our guide said it still might be too cold for them, he couldn't find one anywhere. After two hours he said "Okay there is one more chance for you to see an alligator today. There is a BIG alligator that always hangs out in this one spot, its right around the corner lets see if he is there." We turned the corner and there he was!! All 12 feet and 600 lb of him. He was a pretty scary sight. Our guide said if he were to catch us in the water we would never win...duh!

We had such a great time, and we got to see the
real back country Mississippi Bayou!

Rhylan screams for Ice Cream!!

Last night we grabbed some ice cream at Mc Donald's. This time we decided to get Rhylan her very own $.99 cone! As soon as they delicious soft serve touched her tongue the biggest, toothiest smile spread across her face. She dug right in. I couldn't stop laughing the entire time she was eating it. As you could guess, it was all over but she didn't care. Here is some evidence...I hope some got in her mouth.

Do you think this was a bad idea? (watch video of Rhylan after ice cream) and NO she didn't hit her head at the end!

I also had to add this pic. Rhylan is on her computer right now while I am!

"I can say 100 Words"

The other day I started writing all the words Rhylan could say and understand what they mean. I can't always tell the difference between some of the words and this makes her really frustrated. But we are both getting better. Riley still asks "what is she saying?" and sometimes I can interpret. Here is a list of over 100 words Rhylan can say (in her own way)

duck, pig, bird, fish, turtle, puppy, kitty, bear, bug, horse, cow, giraffe, animal, pink, yellow, white, black, orange, purple, green, color, heart, star, sock, shoes, shirt, pants, hat, jacket, pockets, bow, eye, nose, teeth, toe, belly, hair, cereal, waffle, juice, snack, fishy, banana, cracker, hot dog, french fries, yogurt, pizza, more, play, eat, blanki, binki, purse, phone, couch, computer, keys, baby, ride, book, plate, fork, door, ball, towel, potty, water, bath, stinky, stroller, I did it, sit, go, help, please, down, hold it, yeah, no, under, hi, bye-bye, big, another one, mama, daddy, brother, papa, Zak, Mary, Elmo, outside, night-night, scary, funny, silly, pillow, thank you, cold, hot, flower, ouch, wow, car, truck, fast, love you, tree, sorry, where are you, walk, cool, rip, dip, wipe

Biloxi Vacation Part 3

One morning we went to a really neat Kids Discovery Center (the only on is Mississippi). Rhylan really like that we went some place just for her. She was free to run around and check out anything she wanted.

Here is this huge climbing...thing.It was like 2.5 stories tall and Rhylan Climbed all the way to the top. She however felt more comfortable with daddy in there too.

Then she found a tea set and it took a lot of begging to get her to move on to the next exhibit.
This was a thing that blew out some strong air! I guess it created a vacuum, It could hold a ball in the air at several angles. We decided to use it for other things. You can see Riley's had is flying off.
Her is our little senorita!

A couple things

First, I curled Rhylans hair today for church!! She looked so sweet. She is getting to the age where she actually asks for a bow instead of ripping it out right away. This bow lasted 4 hours, right up until nap time.
After church she had a sucker, I didn't want her "snow princes" white dress to get stained, so I took it off real quick. She ran around the house for a while like this. I just thought she looked too adorable not to take pictures to share.

And tonight I was on a roll. I finished all the blocks for Rhylan's twin quilt. (I got to thinking that I might have the time now that I won't later) So Riley watched a Basketball game (first time in months maybe years) and I sewed away. I am pretty proud. I don't think I have ever made something to big or intricate! Here are a couple pics of it. Click here to see the original post back in September.

OH and a 21 week belly shot!

Don't Laugh!

I had received a great coupon last week and saw that it would expire on Tuesday. So I had planned to use it today, the day after we found out the gender of our baby. I bought all of these things this morning, less than 24 hours ago we didn't even know boy or girl! It was so fun to shop for baby clothes. I got all of these things for $55.83!!!! Without the discounts, it would have come to over $125. I love great shopping days.

Do you want to know?

Well we got our ultrasound today!!! We were so excited. We didn't care either way, we just wanted to know. Riley was guessing a girl and I never said once what I was thinking either way. We found out its a boy! (100% sure). It is all pretty exciting. I honestly think it is a little weird still that we are going to have a little guy around here in a couple of months, we are so used to girl. I guess I (and my mom!) get to go shopping.

Here are the pictures from the ultrasound. 2 profile shots, my favorite. One of his foot. One of his face. And I am sorry, there is one of his little legs... He is just over 14 oz now, and 21 weeks.

Just click on the picture for a bigger photo.

Enough for a pony tail?

Today we tried to put Rhylan's hair into a pony tail!! It involves 2 other rubber bands and several clips to make it work, but it looks cute. Too bad this will only last until nap time...if that long.
